Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, both directly and indirectly, in alignment with the hospital's philosophy of patient care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening promptly to ensure safe deliveries.
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team to coordinate seamless patient care.
• Accurately document patient information in the EPIC electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care to empower them with confidence.

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• EPIC experience required
• EFM certification preferred
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Ability to pass health and background screenings

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
