Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain patient oral health
• Examine patients' oral cavities for signs of disease or abnormalities
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to ensure patient comfort
• Take and develop dental X-rays to aid in diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia
• Current CPR certification
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Experience in a dental clinic setting preferred
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental anatomy and hygiene procedures
• Proficiency in taking and interpreting dental radiographs
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
• Familiarity with dental software for patient records
