Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists chairside with procedures, ensuring patient comfort and confidence
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe environment
• Take and pour dental impressions and create appliances like braces and retainers
• Take and mount dental x-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
• Manage patient records and prepare them for treatment
• Provide exceptional patient care and a welcoming atmosphere

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or licensure
• X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
• Experience in orthodontics, preferably with braces and retainers
• Strong communication skills and a friendly chairside manner
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including afternoon and evening shifts
• CPR certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry skills
• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with patients of all ages
• Attention to detail for patient records and instrument sterilization
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of dental terminology and radiography
