Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adult burn ICU patients, delivering compassionate, high-acuity bedside care
• Manage ventilators and respiratory support, ensuring safe and effective ventilator management
• Administer and monitor continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) when required
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to maintain clear patient records
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team—physicians, charge RN, PCTs and unit support—to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about care plans and support their recovery journey

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of Tennessee or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Experience with ventilator management and familiarity with CRRT desirable
• Med/Surg experience preferred (patient experience requirement)
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and interventions for burn and ICU patients
• Ventilator management and airway/respiratory support
• CRRT fundamentals and monitoring
• Strong Meditech documentation skills
• Ability to work with 2:1 ICU patient ratios and adapt to floating policies
• Team collaboration, clear communication, and patient/family education
• Time management and prioritization during high-acuity shifts
• Adherence to unit-specific policies and required dress code (navy scrubs)
