Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for orthodontic procedures
- Assist the orthodontist during adjustments, bonding, and bracket placement
- Take dental radiographs and intraoral scans with care and precision
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Keep inventory of orthodontic supplies and materials organized
Qualifications
- Orthodontic certification is required
- Dental Assisting certification or relevant training
- Maryland Dental Assistant licensure or ability to obtain
- Experience in orthodontic dental assisting is preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthodontic terminology and procedures
- Dental radiography and imaging techniques
- Infection control and sterilization protocols
- Charting and patient record management
