Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for every patient.
• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, handing off tools and keeping everything running smoothly.
• Take dental radiographs and intraoral scans with precision and care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care, answering questions with a friendly touch.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage supplies so the practice never misses a beat.
• Follow strict infection control protocols to keep patients and team members healthy.

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential required, with a current Maryland license or certification.
• Orthodontic assisting experience preferred, but we are happy to train the right certified candidate.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and cleanliness.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and dental terminology.
• Skilled in dental radiography and intraoral scanning.
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices.
• Excellent patient care and customer service abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
