Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during exams, bonding, and adjustment appointments
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe environment
• Take and process dental X-rays, impressions, and photos for treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with Denticon charting
• Deliver compassionate care to help patients feel comfortable and confident

Qualifications

• Active dental assistant certification or registration in Maryland
• Current X-ray certification preferred
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication skills and a friendly chairside manner
• Ability to work a late afternoon/evening shift from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Denticon
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Skill in taking dental radiographs and impressions
• Strong organizational and patient care abilities
