Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during procedures, ensuring a calm and positive patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays, providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care, supporting them throughout their treatment journey
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans, collaborating closely with the clinical team

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification in Maryland, or eligibility to obtain
• Current X-ray certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Commitment to maintaining a sterile and organized work environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and orthodontic procedures
• Skilled in taking dental X-rays and using dental software such as Denticon
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and team members
• Attention to detail and strict adherence to infection control protocols
