Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a friendly, reassuring approach
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts as needed
• Provide exceptional patient care, making every visit a positive experience

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or state-specific license as required in Maryland
• Experience as a dental assistant, with orthodontic experience a plus
• Current CPR certification
• X-ray certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and orthodontic procedures
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and infection control
• Familiarity with dental practice management software
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
