Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations, procedures, and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms
• Take and process dental x-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and braces care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling
• Provide warm, compassionate chairside care to every patient

Qualifications

• Maryland State Dental Assistant certification (RDA) or eligibility required
• X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
• Experience as a dental assistant; orthodontic experience is a plus
• CPR certification preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and orthodontic procedures
• Familiarity with dental software such as Denticon
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Excellent patient communication and education skills
