Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and ensure their comfort
• Assist the orthodontist during exams, treatments, and adjustments
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification in Maryland (or eligible to obtain)
• Experience in orthodontic assisting is preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate patient manner
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• X-ray certification is a plus

Education

• Completion of a Dental Assistant training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Skilled in infection control and sterilization protocols
• Comfortable using dental software for patient management
• Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
