Roles & Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols when working around toxic/caustic chemicals and detergents
• Follow radiation safety and facility procedures when in areas with x-ray/electromagnetic energy
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogens
• Maintain situational awareness around moving mechanical parts and potential electrical hazards; report unsafe conditions immediately
• Document and report incidents, exposures, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Support keeping work areas safe and operational in adverse weather and variable field conditions

Qualifications

• Comfort and ability to work in environments with exposure to chemicals, dust/fumes, loud noises, and variable temperatures
• Familiarity with basic infection control concepts and bloodborne pathogen precautions
• Willingness to follow strict safety procedures (PPE, signage, reporting)
• Dependable, able to follow directions, and respond to changing site conditions

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Understanding of infection control and bloodborne pathogen principles
• Awareness of hazardous materials handling and basic radiation safety concepts
• Ability to identify and report safety hazards and incidents
• Clear communication and good teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment
