Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
Location: Spokane, Washington
Start Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, flexible 6-hour shifts (MA - AMB); days and start times vary based on clinic needs. Orientation included.
Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients, taking vital signs and documenting health histories
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, and minor procedures in the ambulatory clinic
- Administer medications and injections as ordered, ensuring patient safety
- Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and collect specimens for processing
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Provide patients with clear instructions and education for follow-up care
- Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready for each patient
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (new grads encouraged to apply!)
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Experience in an ambulatory/outpatient clinic is a plus
- Compassionate, professional, and reliable team player
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills: vital signs, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
