Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings and prophylaxes to maintain patient oral health
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
- Document patient care accurately and maintain clinical records
- Assist dentists during procedures and ensure infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current New York State Dental Hygiene license required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- CPR certification (BLS) required
- Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and patient education skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and treatment planning
- Radiography and imaging techniques
- Periodontal therapy and scaling/root planing
- Infection control and sterilization protocols
- Electronic health records (EHR) proficiency
