Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to promote oral health
- Assess patients' oral health and report findings to the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the treatment area
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in New York State
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to infection control
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and instruments
- Knowledge of dental software and digital x-ray systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Ability to work collaboratively with dental team
