Location: Orono, ME

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem / varied days, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, and toileting
Assist with safe transfers and mobility needs to promote independence and prevent falls
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to the nursing team
Document care activities clearly and timely in the resident chart
Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs and preferences are respected
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support excellent care
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

Current CNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Ability to work night shifts and flexible per-diem scheduling
Comfortable with safe resident handling and basic clinical tasks
Willingness to complete facility-required orientation, background check, and immunizations as needed
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with activities of daily living and resident assistance
Basic vital signs and observational skills to notice changes in condition
Knowledge of infection control, safety, and resident dignity best practices
Clear charting and documentation habits
Teamwork, reliability, and time management in a fast-paced care setting
