Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (8- or 10-hour day shifts), same schedule week to week; plus 10-15 call days per month including nights and weekends; holiday call as needed; 15-minute call response time

Candidate Pay Rate: $53.20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub in for open heart procedures including CABG, vascular, and lung cases
• Support general OR cases when not in CVOR
• Assist with ortho, ENT, urology, and general surgeries
• Ensure sterile field and instrument readiness
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR techs
• Maintain BLS certification and adhere to safety protocols
• Participate in call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification
• 2+ years of surgical tech experience
• Experience with CVOR and open heart procedures
• Comfort working in a general OR and other specialties
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to respond to call within 15 minutes
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• No artificial nails due to patient care policy
• Valid driver's license required at submission
• Not currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities

• Common Cases: CABG, Vascular, Lungs
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: Handing open heart procedures, working in a general OR
• Is scrubbing required for RNs?No
• Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? A Manager and Charge daily, no room assignment

• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 8s or 10s beginning at 0700 M-F, same schedule week to week. Call is somewhat self-scheduled
• Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, 10-15 total days per month on call, combination of nights and weekends

• What is call response time? 15 minutes
• Floating Requirements: No- will work general OR when not doing CV cases

• Additional Notes: Will work on CVOR team embedded in the general OR. When not doing cardiovascular cases will do general, ortho, urology and ENT cases

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced 11-suite OR with 18 cases per day
• Attention to detail and quick response time for call
