Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver gentle, thorough dental cleanings and preventive care
• Perform oral assessments and chart findings accurately
• Take and process dental radiographs as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and home care routines
• Assist dentists with procedures and maintain a sterile environment
• Keep treatment rooms organized and ready for every patient

Qualifications

• Current Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Comfortable working independently in a per diem role
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Dental radiology certification if required by state

Knowledge & Skills

• Oral prophylaxis and periodontal care
• Dental radiography and imaging
• Patient assessment and charting
• Infection control and sterilization
• Patient education and chairside manner
• Electronic health records and scheduling
