Roles & Responsibilities

• Welcome young patients and their families with a warm, reassuring smile
• Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments and supplies before each visit
• Assist the dentist chairside during exams, cleanings, sealants, and restorative procedures
• Take and process dental radiographs following all safety guidelines
• Keep instruments and operatories clean and sterilized between patients
• Document patient care accurately in the practice management system
• Help educate kids and parents on oral hygiene, nutrition, and aftercare

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant credential or license in Wisconsin, or the ability to work as an unlicensed assistant per state guidelines
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiography certification or the ability to take dental x-rays
• Prior chairside experience, pediatric experience is a wonderful plus
• Comfortable working a later shift ending at 10:00 PM
• A patient, kind approach with children and nervous patients

Knowledge & Skills

• Four-handed dentistry and chairside technique
• Dental radiography and digital x-ray systems
• Sterilization, infection control, and OSHA protocols
• Dental terminology, charting, and EHR or practice management software
• Behavior guidance for young patients and their caregivers
• Strong communication and a calm, friendly chairside manner
