Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures, ensuring everything is sterile and ready
• Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout cases to protect patient safety
• Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts and document appropriately
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing to promote smooth, timely procedures
• Respond professionally to on-call/call-back requests and assist in urgent or emergent cases

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (required)
• Traveler-friendly — position listed as Traveler / Long Term Assignment
• Willingness to accept on-call and call-back responsibilities (required)
• License/certificate verification will be completed prior to start

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room aseptic practices
• Proficient in instrument identification, setup and care
• Skilled at performing and documenting surgical counts
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced perioperative environments
• Ability to stay calm and organized during high-pressure or urgent cases
