Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional critical care to adult and pediatric patients (15+) in a 34-bed Med Surg ICU
• Manage complex patient conditions including respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, and post-surgical recovery
• Titrate vasopressors, sedation, and other critical drips while monitoring telemetry and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including attendings, fellows, and residents to ensure high-quality care
• Utilize advanced equipment such as CRRT, Impella, balloon pump, EV-1000, ICP monitors, and Zoll Thermoguard
• Float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC) – driver's license required for proof of residency
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam (90% required) during orientation
• Commitment to a 13-week contract (7 or fewer days of RTO upfront)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert patient assessment and critical thinking in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency with ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, and titration of multiple drips
• Comfortable with equipment like CRRT, Impella, balloon pump, EV-1000, and hypothermia protocols
• Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to ask questions and help others
