Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately, following protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Perform comprehensive assessments, document findings, and communicate changes promptly
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, and escalate issues when necessary
• Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity during stressful times
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact RN license eligible for KY practice
• Minimum critical care experience preferred; ICU experience is highly desirable
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to assess and manage complex, critically ill patients
• Strong communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to complete orientation and unit-specific competency requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; nursing diploma considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care nursing principles and ICU workflows
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in medication administration and titration for critically ill patients
• Ability to use electronic health record systems for accurate documentation
• Skilled at rapid assessment, prioritization and escalation in high-acuity situations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
