Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM (days) and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM (nights), every other weekend, includes holiday rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive intensive care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
Titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips as needed
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, manage ventilators, and assist with procedures
Float to PCU and MedSurg units as needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse aides and respiratory therapists
Participate in orientation and pass an open-book exam on skills learned

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
Valid driver's license required (for radius rule verification)
Willingness to adhere to facility policies including no artificial nails

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in ICU nursing, telemetry monitoring, and drip titration
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Experience with common ICU medications and equipment
Effective communication and teamwork skills
