Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to ED hold patients awaiting inpatient beds, primarily medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing dysrhythmias and responding appropriately
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone per physician orders and parameters
• Administer medications, start IVs, and monitor vital signs with precision and care
• Collaborate with ED charge nurses, PCTs, and the care team to ensure seamless patient transitions
• Float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and both Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert EDs as needed, bringing your expertise wherever it's needed most

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past 6 months
• Strong cardiac telemetry background - you'll be caring for more tele patients than medical
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam via RELIAS within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)
• Must pass PASS/FAIL SIM lab on day one of orientation
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS (AHA or APEX) also required
• No prior travel experience needed - we welcome first-time travelers!

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert cardiac telemetry and ECG interpretation
• Dysrhythmia recognition and response
• Cardiac drip titration (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone)
• Medication administration and IV insertion
• Vital signs monitoring and assessment
• Comfortable with Cerner charting system
