Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and make them feel at ease
- Assist the orthodontist during exams and treatments with precision and care
- Take and develop dental X-rays to support accurate diagnoses
- Sterilize and organize instruments to maintain a safe, clean environment
- Educate patients on braces care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
- Keep treatment rooms stocked and ready for each patient visit
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willing to obtain certification
- Current Maryland Dental Radiographer certification or ability to obtain
- Previous orthodontic experience is a big plus, but we love teaching the right candidate
- Comfortable working with patients of all ages, from kids to adults
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of dental instruments, orthodontic tools, and sterilization protocols
- Excellent communication skills to connect with patients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly during busy procedures
- Familiarity with dental software and patient record management
