Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms for each patient
• Take and develop dental X-rays following safety protocols
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and support treatment coordination
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional care

Qualifications

• State dental assistant certification or licensure as required in Maryland
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Radiology (X-ray) certification is a strong plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and patient record management
• Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control
• Ability to explain treatment plans in a clear, caring manner
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting
