Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment is ready for patient care
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider
- Collect specimens and perform basic lab tests as ordered
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the EHR system
- Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and front-office duties to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Educate patients on care plans, medications, and follow-up instructions
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) a plus
- Previous experience in an outpatient, clinic, or medical office setting
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Comfortable taking vital signs and performing patient intake
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Understanding of HIPAA and infection control practices
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
