Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and operatory rooms to maintain a safe environment
• Provide compassionate patient care and education before, during, and after procedures
• Take and process dental x-rays as needed to support accurate diagnoses
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations
• Anticipate surgeon needs and contribute to a positive, efficient team workflow

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or registration in Maryland (or a compact state)
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience in oral surgery or a similar specialty preferred
• Strong chairside assisting skills and the ability to anticipate surgeon needs
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterilization techniques and infection control best practices
• Dental radiography and image processing
• Knowledge of dental terminology and oral surgical procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
