Location: Atlantic, Iowa

Start Date: 08-17-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shifts, every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $81 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to obstetric patients including labor, delivery, postpartum, and recovery
Float to med-surg floor to support patient needs when OB census is low
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes
Monitor fetal heart rates, administer medications, and assist with deliveries
Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn needs
Maintain a safe and healing environment for all patients

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state) required
Minimum 1 year of recent OB experience preferred
Must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other required certifications
Ability to float to med-surg unit as needed
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in obstetrics nursing including L&D, postpartum, and recovery
Competency in med-surg nursing for floating assignments
Proficiency with Point Click EMR system
Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly
Excellent patient education and support skills
