Candidate Pay Rate: $57 - $41.61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist Behavioral Health providers in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care during exams and treatments
  • Prepare patients for appointments, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed
  • Perform clinical and administrative duties within your scope of practice and clinic policies
  • Greet patients and provide professional, warm customer service as the first point of contact
  • Answer phone calls and help patients with their inquiries
  • Explain behavioral health procedures and available services in an approachable way
  • Support providers and the care team with day-to-day coordination of patient needs
  • Work flexibly across multiple behavioral health specialties including psychiatry, therapy, and addiction medicine
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation while protecting privacy and confidentiality
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to keep the team running smoothly

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program that meets Medical Board of California standards
  • At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification (American Heart Association)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish — required
  • Experience in behavioral health or outpatient clinic settings is a plus

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course of study consistent with Medical Board of California requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong patient-care and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with Behavioral Health providers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Professional and compassionate approach to patient interactions
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Comfortable juggling both clinical and administrative responsibilities
  • Understanding of confidentiality and healthcare policies
