Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care including cleanings, exams, and patient education
• Assess patients' oral health and document findings accurately
• Administer local anesthesia and fluoride treatments as needed
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain a sterile and organized work environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR certification (BLS required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in taking and interpreting dental X-rays
• Knowledge of dental hygiene instruments and sterilization techniques
• Strong patient education and motivational interviewing skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to infection control
