Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report residents' conditions and any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility while following facility protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and care logs
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, respectful environment
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (required)
- Registration on the Connecticut CNA registry or ability to register/transfer as required
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to provide resident-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Competent with basic resident care and ADLs (bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting)
- Familiarity with vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe handling procedures
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Teamwork, communication, and the ability to follow care plans
- Respect for resident dignity, privacy, and person-centered approaches
