Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations in charts or electronic records
• Support a compassionate, resident-centered environment that preserves dignity and independence
• Follow infection control protocols and facility safety guidelines at all times
• Communicate effectively and courteously with residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-approved) — ability to work in Connecticut preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and mandated facility screenings
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Reliable attendance and dedication to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills, attention to detail
• Comfortable with patient transfers, ambulation assistance, and mobility support
• Compassionate communication and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nursing staff
