Shift Type: As needed - flexible per diem shifts; days, evenings, and weekends based on patient care needs

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $31 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are patient-centered and family-focused
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to help children improve communication and feeding/swallowing function
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to support each child's overall progress
  • Educate and empower families with strategies to support their child's communication and swallowing growth at home
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately and timely
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences as needed

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcome to apply
  • Experience with pediatric speech, language, or feeding disorders is a plus
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of pediatric speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Familiarity with standardized assessment tools and therapy techniques
  • Understanding of developmental milestones and pediatric diagnoses
  • Excellent documentation and care planning skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Compassion, patience, and creativity when engaging young patients
