Speech-Language Pathologist - Per Diem
Location: Spokane, Washington
Start Date: 08-20-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: As needed - flexible per diem shifts; days, evenings, and weekends based on patient care needs
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $31 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are patient-centered and family-focused
- Provide evidence-based therapy to help children improve communication and feeding/swallowing function
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to support each child's overall progress
- Educate and empower families with strategies to support their child's communication and swallowing growth at home
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately and timely
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcome to apply
- Experience with pediatric speech, language, or feeding disorders is a plus
- BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, compassionate approach
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of pediatric speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Familiarity with standardized assessment tools and therapy techniques
- Understanding of developmental milestones and pediatric diagnoses
- Excellent documentation and care planning skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Compassion, patience, and creativity when engaging young patients
