Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit, monitoring vital signs and managing complex medical needs
• Administer medications and treatments, including vesicant and non-vesicant chemotherapy after completing required training
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Completion of ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course or OCN certification (preferred)
• Previous oncology or PCU experience highly valued
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and vesicant management
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
• Comfort with using electronic health records and medical equipment
