Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing activities during the night shift, ensuring smooth operations and quality patient care.
• Act as a clinical resource for nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and direction as needed.
• Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain optimal patient flow and safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and promote a positive patient experience.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Respond to emergencies and critical situations with confidence, making sound decisions to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Illinois or a compact state license.
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience is a plus, but strong clinical judgment and a passion for mentoring are equally valued.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make thoughtful decisions during night shifts.

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of nursing operations, patient care standards, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and staff.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially in emergency situations.
• Skilled at mentoring and supporting nursing team members with empathy and clarity.
• Comfortable using electronic health records and hospital systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for nursing practice.
