Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse Med/Surg and Telemetry patient population.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, acting quickly to address any changes or concerns.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and update individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately.
• Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient progress and communicate thorough handoffs during shift changes.
• Adapt swiftly to different unit needs as part of the resource pool, bringing your expertise wherever it's needed most.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous Med/Surg and Telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to float across multiple units as needed
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable interpreting telemetry strips and recognizing arrhythmias
• Skilled in IV insertion and medication administration
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Quick decision-making in fast-paced environments
• Compassionate and clear patient education
• Proficient with electronic health records and documentation
