Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and maternal vital signs, responding quickly to any changes
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including emergency interventions when needed
• Educate and support families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe, positive outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and maintain a calm, reassuring presence in the delivery room

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing is strongly preferred
• Completion of a Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty-specific competency testing
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and background check

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
• Compassionate communication with patients and families
• Team collaboration and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
