Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 08-20-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, as needed; 12.5-hour shifts (shift availability varies by facility need)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with respiratory conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and respiratory medications
- Monitor and manage ventilator settings for critically ill patients
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop individualized care plans
- Document patient responses and adjust therapies to achieve optimal outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
- BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Ability to work per diem with flexible availability
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in ventilator management and respiratory equipment
- Knowledge of evidence-based respiratory therapy protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
