Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes quickly
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the care team to develop and adjust treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
• Document patient care accurately and maintain a safe, clean environment

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• RRT or CRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including some weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong airway management and ventilator support skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and respiratory equipment
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Great communication skills with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, acute care environment
