Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms on telemetry units and respond promptly to alarms
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document patient status with accuracy and compassion
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while watching for adverse reactions
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to adjust care plans as patient conditions evolve
• Educate patients and families about cardiac health, medications, and follow-up care
• Act quickly in emergencies, including cardiac arrest protocols, and support the team during codes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Previous telemetry or acute care nursing experience is a plus
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (new grads with telemetry clinical rotations encouraged to apply)
• Strong EKG interpretation skills or willingness to complete telemetry training

• Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and monitoring technology
