Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to premature and critically ill newborns
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, adjusting care plans as needed
• Administer medications, IVs, and specialized treatments
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other care providers
• Support and educate families through the NICU journey
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact RN license
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
• Previous NICU experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neonatal assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of neonatal pharmacology and dosage calculations
• Excellent communication and family advocacy skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure
