Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit
• Complete admission assessments and medication reconciliation for patients admitted from the ED
• Initiate acute care orders and ensure timely throughput to enhance patient experience
• Collaborate with a dedicated team to maintain patient safety and excellent outcomes
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed to support hospital operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) level care
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills essential
• Charge nurse experience or willingness to learn is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Cerner documentation system
• Experience with Baxter IV pumps
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to manage a 1:5 (Step-Down) to 1:6 (MedSurg) patient ratio
• Excellent communication and patient experience focus
