Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans tailored to each patient
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, communicating changes promptly
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact license if applicable)
• BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to new patient assignments and unit needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) charting
• Strong patient assessment and clinical reasoning skills
• Effective teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Excellent time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
