Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries such as knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
• Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and report changes to the healthcare team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, pain management, and rehabilitation
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EPIC electronic health record

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Experience with orthopedic patients is preferred
• Must pass an open book skills exam with a 90% or higher during orientation
• Ability to float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in EPIC charting system
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of pain management, antibiotics, and blood administration
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
