Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours guaranteed per week. Weekend and on-call schedules to be determined by facility.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for labor and delivery patients
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs during labor
• Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the birthing process
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Respond to emergencies and stabilize patients as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland (or compact state) – verified within 30 days
• Minimum 2 years of recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (or willing to obtain within 48 hours of offer)
• Active NIH Stroke Scale/Score (NIHSS) certification (or willing to obtain within 48 hours of offer)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (declinations not accepted, must be state-recorded)
• Willingness to work facility’s schedule including weekends and on-call

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in nursing assessment and care planning
• Skilled in electronic fetal monitoring interpretation
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
