Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and support mothers during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Provide immediate, compassionate care to newborns after birth
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team to ensure the best outcomes
• Educate families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Respond quickly to emergencies and assist with C-sections and other procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and uphold patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license or compact state license
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Excellent maternal and newborn assessment skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making
• Proficient with electronic health records (EHR)
