Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist interventional radiologists during image-guided invasive procedures, keeping patients safe and comfortable.
• Coordinate the IR physician schedule and collaborate with floor nurses and imaging technologists for smooth procedure flow.
• Administer and monitor sedation, place PIVs, and support patients through recovery.
• Work with patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Jump in to hold pressure under sterile conditions when needed, while staying focused on patient wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiology setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience with sedation monitoring and PIV placement
• Cerner EMR experience is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of interventional radiology procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, and drainages
• Proficiency in monitoring sedated patients and recognizing changes in status
• Skill in placing peripheral IVs and using MRI-safe pumps and EKG monitors
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with radiologists, techs, and nursing teams
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care across the lifespan
