Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a cardiac stepdown unit, including post-EP lab and post-cath lab patients
• Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac drips (gtts) with precision
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of RNs and PCTs to maintain a 3-4:1 patient ratio
• Assess and respond to changes in patient condition, ensuring safety and quality outcomes
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and care coordination
• Float to Med Surg and stepdown units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Charge experience preferred but not required
• Ability to stay calm and flexible in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience with sheath removal and post-procedure care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to float across Med Surg and stepdown units
