Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare patients for appointments and help them feel comfortable and informed about their care
- Capture high-quality dental X-rays and impressions with precision
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Denticon software
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments, keeping treatment rooms ready for every patient
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, braces care, and post-treatment instructions
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional orthodontic care in a friendly environment
Qualifications
- Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification is required
- Valid Maryland dental assistant license or registration
- Hands-on experience with Denticon dental software
- Current X-ray certification and proficiency in taking dental radiographs
- Previous experience in an orthodontic practice is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, patient-focused attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and patient care
- Comfort with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping and infection control
- Active listening and clear communication with patients and teammates
