Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare patients for appointments and help them feel comfortable and informed about their care
• Capture high-quality dental X-rays and impressions with precision
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Denticon software
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments, keeping treatment rooms ready for every patient
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, braces care, and post-treatment instructions
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional orthodontic care in a friendly environment

Qualifications

• Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) or equivalent certification is required
• Valid Maryland dental assistant license or registration
• Hands-on experience with Denticon dental software
• Current X-ray certification and proficiency in taking dental radiographs
• Previous experience in an orthodontic practice is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, patient-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and patient care
• Comfort with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping and infection control
• Active listening and clear communication with patients and teammates
